Why Float Tank Water Is Naturally Hostile to Germs

Unlike a hot tub or swimming pool, the environment inside a float tank is considered hostile to microbial life.

• Extremely High Salt Concentration: Each tank at Float Midland contains roughly 1,000 pounds of pharmaceutical-grade Epsom salt dissolved into about 10–12 inches of water. That concentration creates a dense, buoyant solution that’s too salty for bacteria or other microorganisms to survive.

• Constant Filtration Between Each Float: After every single session, all the water in the tank is cycled through a multi-stage filtration system.

• Advanced UV and Ozone Sanitation: We utilize ultraviolet (UV) light sterilization, which neutralizes over 99.9% of bacteria and viruses by breaking down their DNA structure. Many float centers, including ours, also integrate ozone purification, which oxidizes and removes contaminants even more effectively than chlorine, but without harsh chemicals or odors.
